There’s no getting away from it, the occasions we celebrate haven’t quite been the same since March 2020. We might be stuck at home, but we’ve come up with 3 different ideas for making this Valentine’s Day a foodie event to remember!


Whatever your drink of choice may be, there are virtual tasting events happening the length and breadth of the country. Most producers offering such services will deliver the necessary drinks in individual tasting portions to your door in advance and then offer fun commentary and serving suggestions via zoom. Whether you’re after cocktails, wine, beer or even mead produced in Cork, you name it there’s an amazing Irish producer making it!


If zoom isn’t your thing or you’ve left it to the last minute, create your own event. Print out a few tasting sheets, line up the drinks and make a night of it with the one you love.



Whether you are dying to spend the day in the kitchen trying a new recipe, or if you don’t quite have the skills but want to treat your loved one to some home cooking there are a variety of meal kits available by incredible artisan producers who will deliver perfectly portioned ingredients in advance to you home… from fresh home made pizzas, grazing boxes filled with charcuterie and cheeses or authentic Chinese bao or gyoza, and many others in-between.


However you do it – set a perfect table for two, cook with love and enjoy every mouthful!
